After: a painting by Eglon Hendrick van der Neer, signed and dated 1680, on wood with arched top 52 x 43 cm. It was in the collection of the Elector Palatine Johann Wilhelm, who would appoint Eglon Hendrick van der Neer as his court painter in 1698, and passed from his collection in Düsseldorf to Mannheim in 1730 and thence to Schleissheim and to the Alte Pinakothek, Munich. Deaccessioned from the Alte Pinakothek in 1937, it passed through various collections and was offered for sale at Sotheby's, New York, on 29 January 2015 (lot 58)
