About this work

Description

This spoon, made of silver gilt and gold, is hinged at the handle, allowing it to be neatly folded up and stored in its own leather case. The spoon is believed to have been used to measure out medicines. The handle of the spoon is hollow and may have been used as a scoop to measure out smaller quantities. maker: Unknown maker Place made: Europe
