An extremely interesting historical document, entering fully into the causes of his departure, assuming the only ground of the Queen’s displeasure to be his adherence to the Roman Catholic faith ; and arguing from the misfortunes of his ancestors, the insecurity of his own life,he prefers voluntary exile in penury abroad, looking rather to the “ preservacion of his life, than to the possession of his living.” 38 Authors. 1.
