Hazanas y La Rua, p. 96: Dominico de Robertis (1534-1548), a famous printer from whose office were issued some of the rarest of the Seville Gothic books. The earliest of his books, Tristan de Leonis, was printed in 1534, and afterwards there is scarcely a book of chivalry of any importance of which Robertis did not issue an edition. He did not, however, confine himself to this type of book: he printed Pedro Mexia’s Silva de varia leccion (1540), and many other books of a similar nature. He apparently died in 1548, as, in the follow- ing year, we find, in the Dozena part de Amadise, and in the Libro de grandezas y cosas memorables de Espana, of Pedro de Medina, and in 1550 the Coloquios matrimoniales of Pedro Luzan, colophons to the effect that they were printed in the House of Dominico de Robertis, ‘‘ que haya gloria,’’ or ‘‘ que sancta glia aya.”’ PrRovENANCE: Heytesbury House (Bookplate). 284 SPORT.
