    accommodation is provided for all students during the first two years of training and, as mentioned earlier in this report, “ Red House ”—a villa at Moulton Park—has been made available for certain third year students. Arrangements for clinical practice in the physical field have continued as in previous years. We are very grateful to the Management Committees of the various hospitals who have allowed us to send students for this very vital part of their training. The Committee of Management have continued to grant scholar¬ ships of £80 per annum during the second year of training to those students who, in my opinion, require financial assistance in com¬ pleting their studies. Through the kindness of The Earl Spencer, we were privileged during the year to have an illustrated talk on embroidery by Mrs. Neild from the Royal School of Needlework. The examples which she showed will be an inspiration to all who saw them. The students, assisted by members of the staff, have continued to organize parties, whist drives, entertainments and tennis tourna¬ ments for the patients, and this year patients have taken a more active part in these affairs. At a party just before Easter, a group of patients performed a sketch and a dance mime, in costumes made in the occupational therapy workshops. Hockey matches were played as usual, and this year two tennis matches were arranged. The students much enjoyed their annual dance and they organized other dances in the town. At the end of the summer term, the second year students gave an impromptu entertainment, written and produced by themselves. Owing to a change of examination dates, the school was unable to give its usual entertainment at Christmas, but it is hoped that it will be possible to do this early in the spring. We were unfortunate at the Open Day in that the late Bishop of Coventry, who was to have preached at the end of term service, was seriously ill. However, he sent an excellent substitute in Brother Ronald, who gave a most inspiring address. Miss Barbara Stow kindly presented the prizes. During the year, the school suffered a sad blow in the death of Mrs. Thomas, the Hostel Warden, after a long illness. She had endeared herself to many generations of students and is sadly missed. Miss Woodall was appointed to fill the vacancy and took up residence for the autumn term. Miss Barbara Bishop resigned her appoint¬ ment on marriage, and we were sorry to lose her services. Captain Garratt continues in charge of physical recreation on the gentlemen’s side, and on the ladies’ side this work is supervised by Mrs. K. C. Latto, one of the senior representatives of the Central
