About this work

Description

This is an x-ray of a young man with a large cavitating nodule in the left mid zone, close to the hilum. Note that there is no significant hilar enlargement in this case. A sputum culture grew Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This is primary pulmonary tuberculosis with breakdown of a Ghon focus, but no visible left hilar lymphadenopathy.
