Description

The Virgin's head is crowned with twelve stars and her feet are cradled by a sickle moon. The stars are often linked to the apostles who attended her Assumption and the moon under her feet shows her triumph over the sublunary, transient sphere. The empty tomb lies below her; yonder lies a town embedded in some mountains
