About this work

Description

Model of structure of gamma subunit of the enzyme phosphorylase kinase, which responds to the body's nervous and hormonal signals to regulate the activity of glycogen phosphorylase, and hence the level of sugar available in the blood. This is a fragment of a huge complex, total molecular weight over one million daltons, which coordinates the variety of inputs that determine the organism's requirement for energy.
