About this work

Description

Black and white photograph illustrating multiple papilloma of the nipple. Microscopic examination shows the growth to consist of pure fibrous tissue, covered by a thin layer of squamous epithelium. Removed by operation from a woman who had observed small growths on the right breast for 15 years.
