It charts the paths and acu-moxa locations of the three hand yang channels on the outer surface of the upper limbs, i.e. the small intestine channel of hand taiyang, with marked points including shaoze (Lesser Marsh), qiangu (Front Valley), houxi (Back Stream), wangu (Wrist Bone), yanggu (Yang Valley) and yanglao (Support the Aged); the large intestine channel of hand yangming, with marked points including shangyang (Shang Yang), er jian (Second Belt), san jian (Third Belt), hegu (Uniting Bone), yangxi (Yang Stream) and pianli (Veering Passage); and the sanjiao (Triple Burner) channel of hand shaoyang, with marked points including guanchong (Rushing Pass), yemen (Fluid Portal), zhongzhu (Central Islet), yangchi (Yang Pool), waiguan (Outer Pass) and zhigou (Branch Ditch).
