About this work

Description

Rhamnus Cathartica (Common buckthorn) Small thorny shrub with dull green oval leaves. Inconspicuous greenish white flowers, producing green fruits, which ripen to red and black. Contains anthraquinone glycosides which are toxic. Ingestion of many berries by children can produce serious poisoning, even death. Shows bare twigs with clusters of round, black berries.
