    Xl that too much is made here of chemical views, seeing that after all chemistry does not in every instance give the exact constitution of a water. That is true; but still, as far as chemistry does go, it is of immense service. In many instances we can no more form a water by adding its elements than we can form wine by putting together a certain amount of water and organic materials. Some one has said that, in analysing waters, we only dissect their carcases. It only remains for me to counsel my readers, in the words of M. Herpin’s motto— “Vos quos languor edax, quos opprimit arida tabes, Mergite vos undis fontes haurite salubres.”
