Flores apparuerunt in terra nostra. Canti. ca. II v. XII. Raphael Urbinas invenit. Jacobus Coelimans sculpsit. The lettering from the Song of Solomon (II.xii) means "Flowers have appeared in our land". Actual flowers are shown in the foreground of the picture
