Description

These comprise the following 1. Copy of memorial to Feoffees of Winterscales Hospital re. case of Elizabeth Williamson (applying to charity of the hospital). Possibly by Dr Kitching, undated, c. 1850s - 1860s 2. Affirmation and order re. case of John England, inmate of Lawrence House Asylum, 1874 3. Notes on case of Charlotte Smith by her mother, recounting her history from 1873: she was confined in a Bristol Asylum, mother protests against the confinement and relates her attempts to release her; she would like her to come to Retreat, 1876 4. Correspondence between Dr Baker and Mr Gill, Medical Superintendent of York Lunatic Asylum: a dispute over consultation in case of Mr Hesling, 1877 5. Admission forms for Mary Stapylton, 1883 (she was at The Poplars, Acomb, York, see RET 8/2/2/1) 6. Memorandum by Dr Baker of interview with Mr Darling at Starbeck re. his state of his mind; he has been interviewed by other doctors and there appears to be disagreement over state of mind and course of action, 1886 7. Legal papers for M.M.R. (not a patient at Retreat, but Dr Mackenzie of Retreat involved), 1913 - 1925
