Biographical note
William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854), topographical draughtsman who travelled widely, and died at sea when returning from the East in 1854. He produced many drawings from his journeys and many illustrated publications, list being found in 'Bartlett Testimonial' produced after his death to solicit funds for his family after his death.
In the letter Bartlett warns Charles Tilt (1797-1861), publisher, to beware of various health problems such as malaria whilst travelling in the Levant
