Description

3 June, 1936. Orient House, New Broad Street, London EC2, Sir Ernest Roney to Sir Richard A Cooper [4 sheets]. With annotations in pencil. Refers to "information and guidance that you sought of me in your letter of 6th April" (not present in file). Advice on the voting rights of the Directors of a Public Company where conflict of interest arises: "In such case the interest of the Director in such contract or arrangement must be disclosed at an early meeting of the Directors after the acquisition of his interest, and no Director shall as a Director vote in respect of any such contract or arrangement and if he does so, his vote shall not be counted" (pp. 1-2).

The file also contains a brief note (5 July, 1936) from Sir R A Cooper to J A Hill, requesting "the average price of our ordinary shares for each year since 1927". With Hill's reply, setting out the figures requested. Also, a manuscript sheet that provides figures for the period 1937-1940.
