TUBERCULOSIS The number of cases on the register rose from 45 to 47, due to the notification of two fresh male cases. During the year a letter was received from the Department of Health and Social Security regarding the future of the Mass Miniature Radiography Service. A summary of the letter is as follows: :iThis Memorandum reviews the present effectiveness of the Mass Miniature Radiography Service and suggests that the general need for mass radiography of the chest no longer exists. Regional Hospital Boards are asked to consider in consultation with local health authorities how the need for chest X-ray services in their regions can best be met, with a view to integrating Mass Miniature Radiography Units with hospital radiological departments, and are asked to report on progress.5* NATIONAL ASSISTANCE ACTS 1948 - 1951 I am again glad to report that no action was required under Section 47 of these Acts. MEALS ON WHEELS The W.R.V.S. carried out a widespread Meals on Wheels Service throughout the District, except Hunsdon where the service is organised by the Countess of Lindsey, and there follow details of the number of days operated each v/eek and the average number of persons served Area Served Dane End.
