The 2nd of a 6-part series in which Dr. Alice Roberts, doctor and anatomist, explores the workings of the human body. This part looks at the lungs - Roberts meets people who put their lungs under extreme pressure and those who are putting them under pressure by smoking / breathing in pollution. Lisa Garrity is finding it very difficult to give up smoking so Roberts takes her to see an operation on a 56-year-old woman with a cancerous tumour in her lung - this is shown in detail.
