Principes de chirurgie. A student's notes of lectures, probably at the Académie royale de Chirurgie in Paris, where La Faye was Démonstrateur. Above the title in an early 19th cent. hand 'Bittig, Médecin à Eaux sus Blois, Dép[artement] de la Haute Marne'. Produced in Paris.

Biographical note

The author was a celebrated 18th century surgeon, and his 'Principes de Chirurgie', first published in 1739, went into numerous editions and was translated into several languages.
