Description
Large handwritten sign reading: "Composite Photographs of Jewish Faces by Francis Galton, FRS. These are the originals of those reduced and published by the Photographic News in April 1885, of which one page is mounted here for comparison. The large figures with capital letters attached, are Composites. The small faces with Italic letters are the individual likenesses, whence the composites that bear the same letter [word obscured]"
