Letters from Smith to Galton regarding the measurement of horses.

Smith discusses measurements useful for hereditary enquiry, the difficulty of establishing proportions useful to breeders, the growth and development of horses, methods of measurement, information on stud and livestock books, and the difficulty of representing measurements and correct proportions in photographs.

Smith measured and photographed horses for Galton. Enclosed are several annotated diagrams of horses, and several annotated photographs.
