Joseph F. Flagg is named as the proprietor in the copyright statement pasted on the verso of the title-page. The plates are wood engravings after the copperplates of the London edition. The American edition was prepared under the supervision of J. C. Warren, who also added the general description of the arteries, following the divisions of Bichat (v. Advertisement)
