Description

Copy of the original Charter, dated 10 May, 1435. The title-page reads as follows: 'The original MSS. [sic], of which this is a copy is on vellum and in the possession of the Worshipful Company of Barbers of London, at their Hall in Monkwell Street, City. This copy was made for Charles John Shoppee ... A.D. 1858. Thomas Brown scripsit'. Extra-illustrated by inserted copies of the Company's coat of arms. With 2 book-plates of C. J. Shoppee, one in red and black. The upper cover bears the arms of the Company in gold, and the back cover those of C. J. Shoppee. Produced in London.

1 volume 84 ll. + 2 bl. ll. 8vo. 18 x 111/2 cm. Original limp morocco binding. Written on ruled paper across both pages. The Calendar is in red, blue, purple, and black.
