About this work

Description

Are GP surgeries facing closure due to recent government reforms which bring in greater influence from the private sector. More radical commercialisation has been called for and the government has envisaged 'Polyclinics,' large medical centres in which GPs can perform tasks such as ultrasounds, x-rays and blood tests. Already in the UK there are 61 GP surgeries run by private companies. Members of the public, GPs and government representatives here discuss the future of primary health care.
