    Film on “ Surgery in Chest Disease” “ Montgomery” Bed Subscriptions and Donations A series of Medical Films, intended primarily for overseas medical audiences, is being made for the British Council. The first of the series entitled “ Surgery in Chest Disease ” is intended to indicate the scope and progress of chest surgery and collateral services in this country. Most of the film was taken at the Hospital and has been acclaimed in the medical press as one of the best instruc¬ tional films of any kind that has ever been seen, and the hope is expressed that it will be widely distributed abroad to enhance the already high reputation of all those concerned in its making. The Committee express their gratitude to Miss Ruth Montgomery who organised an appeal for funds to endow a “ Montgomery ” bed in the Hospital as a tribute to General Sir Bernard Montgomery and the Officers, Non¬ commissioned Officers and Men of the Eighth Army. The sum of £1,423 has already been received, and has been added to the Endowment Fund. The thanks of the Committee are again accorded to the (Governors and Subscribers for their support during the past year. The principal contributions received were :— £ s. d.
