About this work
Description
Large sketchbook created by Audrey Amiss, containing pencil and pastel sketches, mostly in monochrome, or monochrome with blue. One sketch uses watercolour. Contains no annotations. Sketches are applied with heavy pressure, and the paper has been significantly worn away or torn, possibly by force or rubbing. Occasionally sellotape has been used [presumably by Audrey] to cover holes and tears, but this is infrequent. Subjects include still life (flowers and fruit bowl). The date has been estimated during cataloguing and is based on the contents of the volume.
