About this work

Description

Episode one. The psychologists explore the childrens’ attempts at forming identity and exploring gender. They investigate how the six-year-olds manage leadership by conducting a ‘group leader’ experiment, involving a tug of war contest. The psychologists discuss whether romantic and sexual development occurs significantly younger than adolescence. They then observe the 6 year olds’ penchant for rule breaking, and explore their varying reactions to the consequences of such behaviour. This episode looks closely at individual friendships within the larger group.
