Amoebiasis: amoebic abscess in liver

Histopathology of the liver: amoebic abscess This is a high power view of liver with early abscess formation. The right side of the picture shows necrosis with an inflammatory infiltrate (small, dark cells). The left side shows residual normal liver parenchyma. Several trophozoites are present in the centre of the picture (single, large, pale cells with a dark nucleus). H&E stain.
