About this work

Description

Forms originally generated from diagrams of the foot in a Chinese textbook of reflexology, transformed by abstraction and by the introduction of brilliant primary colours similar to those in the prints of Sam Francis (American painter and lithographer, 1923-1994). Also a reference to the "reflexive" nature of print-making: the sheet printed is a mirror image of the lithographic stone or plate
