A later pencil note at the top of the document reads 'Picked up in Drawing Room of Tuilleries during the Revolution Feb 1848.'

Acquisition note

Most of the documents were purchased from Stevens, London, in August 1930 (acc.90163). Document 2 was purchased from Puttick and Simpson, London, in April 1909 (acc. 67415). The remainder were purchased from Charavay, Paris, between January 1930 and July 1935 (accs.67126, 67373, 64716 and 69124). The provenance of document 5 is unknown.
