About this work

Description

Film based upon a set of notes taken by diligent student Balthasar Heseler, who attended a series of public dissections by Vesalius. Using historical woodcuts, along with live footage of modern dissections performed at UCLA in 1990, the video shows how the 25-year-old Vesalius was already questioning the anatomical doctrines of Galen.
