About this work

Description

The seated patient croaks: "Ta-ke- a p-hee-p- brother -ta-ha-ke a p-hee-p- I- ca-hant- se-he the poker, put a sti-t-itch". One of the consultants warns: "Stand off patients, keep your distance - I think a bit of sticking plaister will do brother", the two students complain: "Is that all we are to be taught for our money - stand off - & take a peep". A notice on the wall reads: "For permission to run the hospital --- 21. For box carrier 10.6 i.e. myself. Mem. No gentlemen to remain longer than five minutes in one room, not to press upon the surgeon, to make the best use of their eyes. N.B. Gentlemen that are deaf may learn all as well."
