Notes

"Adventures with the Elderly is part journal, part call to action. Issue #1 talks about the discombobulating (and fun! And exhausting!) realities of caring for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. I hope you'll see that while caregiving is hard, seniors are totally awesome people with years of life experience, perspective, humour and love. I am so glad I got to meet all "my seniors" and hear their stories, even as they struggled through some challenging times. If you feel like you haven't talked to your grandmother, father, or elderly friend in a while, I'd love for you to call them or write them or drop by their house and say hi. One final note: I am a trained caregiver, but I am not a medical professional. This zine is not intended to give medical or best-practices advice. Also, I have changed all names and fictionalized some details to protect the privacy of all the seniors I met."--From Introduction.
This zine has non-standard binding and comprises mixed materials. It is sadle stitched with a transparent acetate cover. It also contains a loose Post-It note (page [23]) and a smaller mini-zine attached to the larger page (page [27]).
