About this work

Description

Visualisation of calcium during development of Drosophila embryo. The embryo was co-injected with Ca-sensitive dye calcium green dextran and Ca-insensitive rhodamine-dextrin and confocal images taken. The image is of a cortical glancing section of the anterior pole. Ca waves initiate at the anterior pole and propagate to the centre of the embryo. The data are shown in flat format. The false colours indicate the concentration of calcium.
