Three copies are kept in a BOX, together with a letter written in 1968 by LSHTM Librarian concerning bibliographical differences of the 3 LSHTM Library copies. There are minor differences between the three copies and, therefore, they are not duplicates. All 3 copies arecased in original publisher's soft cloth covers. The title and author are printed in gold letters on the front cover of all 3 copies : NOTES ON NURSING. BY FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE; however there are slight differences in the typefaces. None of the copies is dated ; 1859? is the date used in the Wellcome Library catalogue record, and in the LSHTM printed catalogue. All 3 copies have yellow advertising endpapers, different in all 3 copies
Copy 1. Mss note on front pastedown : Osler No. 7738 [earliest variant? last date = 1866]. N.B. publisher's advertisement on the front pastedown refers to a book "Life of Admiral of the Fleet Sir William Parker, ... Copy 2. On the t.p. is a mss note - possibly a library classmark; on the verso of the t.p. is mss note: Osler no. 7738. There is a white label on front cover - possibly a library classmark
