Nature of the food; does he eat between meals ? Sensations referred to Stomach. Their nature, and where exactly they are felt. Produced or relieved by the taking of food ? How long after food do they come on ? Their relation to special kinds of food. Vomiting. Frequency and time of day at which it occurs. Its relation to food. Does it occur apart from meals ? Does it relieve pain or not ? Is there much retching ? General characters of vomited matter. Has it ever contained blood ? Inquire regarding “ coffee grounds ” vomiting. Eructations. Flatulence. After food or between meals ? Relation to particular articles of food. Does it escape downwards or upwards ?
