About this work

Description

Described in the lettering as the true representations of the effigies of the saints as they were worshipped in the convent of Saint Basil the Great in Madrid. The convent building, on the Calle del Desengaño in Madrid, was demolished in 1850. The lettering also states days of indulgence awarded by cardinals Portocarrero and Mendoza for prayers recited in front of the holy images, "A devocion del P. dn. Josef Sanz."
