Leprosy: type 1 (reversal) leprosy reaction

Tuberculoid (TT) leprosy: type 1 (reversal) leprosy reaction This is a low power view of a skin section from a patient with TT in reaction. There is granulomatous inflammation in the middle part of the dermis around nerves and blood vessels. The upper dermis appears pale due to severe oedema, which is a feature of a type 1 reaction.
