About this work

Description

The film was produced by the FPA as a sex education resource. It deals with the perception of contraception and the roles of men and women in relationships. The film opens with Danny and his girlfriend Lorraine shopping. Later we see Danny tell his friends that he can’t go to the pub as he is spending the night with Lorraine in his parents’ house. He collects Lorraine in his car and brings her, quite unwilling, to the pub to meet his friends. Lorraine’s friends arrive and she smokes and chats with them as Danny dances with his friends. When they leave, Danny offers to drop his friends home too. In Danny’s parents’ house, he and Lorraine argue about his ignoring her all night, he finds a packet of condoms in her bag and claims girls shouldn’t carry them. She leaves and walks home. The next day, she chats with her friends and one of them also claims that she shouldn’t carry condoms. Danny talks with his colleague who advises him that girls can look after themselves and that it isn’t a problem that she was carrying condoms. We then see Danny phone Lorraine to discuss their fight.
