Description
Schistosomiasis due to Schistosoma haematobium: histopathology of the large intestine
This is a low power view of an inflammatory polyp in the colon of a 6-year-old child who presented with rectal bleeding. H&E stain.
The polyp contained schistosome granulomas and eggs. It had no complete mucosal epithelial lining and therefore oozed blood.
