The trial of Job Wells, of Redburn in the county of Hertford, for a rape committed on the body of his own daughter, Maria Wells, at the assizes held at Hertford, before the Right Hon. Sir William Lee, knt. chief justice of His Majesty's Court of King's Bench, and the Hon. Sir Thomas Denison, knt. one other of His Majesty's justices of the said court, on Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th of August, 1753. To which is added, a full account of his behaviour under sentence, and at the place of execution. And the substance of a most excellent sermon, on this occasion, preached before him at Hertford, on Sunday the 26th of August.
