Description

Diary. Kept intermittently over a period of 48 years, the diary contains reflections on Barham's health, medical practice, religious life and association with Unitarianism (with copies of two letters to the Revd James Martineau), family matters and other topics, including education and clothing in relation to health (ff. 99-101). Also included are narratives of the illness and deaths of his wife and daughter in 1836 (ff. 17-48), and of visits to his brothers Charles Foster Barham, MD, and Francis Foster Barham.
