Description

This figure is marked with acupuncture points and was used as a teaching tool. Acupuncture has been practised in East Asia for over 3000 years. It involves insertin gneedles into the body at various points in the paths taken by the 'chi' or 'qi', this life force which, according to Taoist philosophy, flows around the body. Recently, acupuncture has become apopular form of alternative medicine ini the West.
