    ELBOW. This joint, and, indeed, any of the joints, being usually inflamed and swollen when cupping is re- quired, afford a good space for the application of a couple of four- ounce glasses, either oval or round, one above and the other below the joint, on the outer. side, the fore arm being flexed and lying prone on a pillow; the large scarificator is used, excepting the patient is a child, but it must not be set too deeply ; it ought to cut across the muscles.
