Biographical note

The author of this MS. appears to have been a medical student, who also may have held a junior post on the staff of the Westminster Hospital; he gives details of patients, their diseases and remedies. His name was Cooper, and he was the son of a physician or surgeon referred to as 'Mr. Cooper' [Transcript fol. 14 and fol. 16], who may possibly have been William Cooper, Senior surgeon to Guy's Hospital from 1783 to 1800.
