    “ Patients often take some ungrounded pre¬ judice against their best friends, who should “ in such case see them without been seen. te When the friendsbring any article for a Pa» “ tient, the Physician or Director must bepre- “ viously consulted as to its propriety/1 It is with the greatest satisfaction that, in con¬ cluding their Report, the Governors have it in their power to announce, that the prosperous state of the funds of the Asylum has allowed them to reduce the rate of payment of the Third rank Female Pa¬ tients, one shilling per week. They anxiously hope the time may not be far distant, when the increasing interest of the Public in its success and their con¬ tinued support, combined with the natural effects of those sound principles and that economy and watchfulness, which pervade every part of the Estab¬ lishment, may render still further reduction of the rates practicable, and thus extend the benefits of an Institution at once so honorable and so valuable to the County.
