Description
Jianyi puji liangfang (Simple and Effective Prescriptions for Every Emergency) originally consisted of six volumes (juan). However, by the time this edition was published (in 1561, 40th year of the Jiajing reign period of the Ming dynasty, Xin You year) the first volume had become lost. The publisher, Hu Zao, therefore reused the wood block from the first page of Volume 6 to create a new title page for Volume 1, and supplied a new preface of his own. This image shows the first page (frst half-folio) of that preface.
