Reproduction of a woodcut captioned "Figure d'une Comete admirable veue en l'air" [The figure of a Fearful Comet] from Paré, Ambroise (1510?-1590): Les œuures d'Ambroise Paré, conseiller, et premier chirurgien du roy : Diuisees en vingt sept liures, auec les figures et portraicts, tant de l'anatomie que des instruments de chirurgie, et de plusieurs monstres A Paris : Gabriel Buon, 1579. The image by French surgeon Paré, depicts the Comet of 1528, and features in the early printed book on general medicine, surgery and anatomy, which is held by Wellcome Collection.
