About this work

Description

Histopathology of the liver: amoebic abscess This is a low power view of liver tissue. There are several geographical ('jigsaw') areas of necrosis. This is the early stage of abscess formation, before microabscesses become confluent to form a larger abscess. The amoebic trophozoites are visible as small, white dots. H&E stain. See images W0044337 and W0044338 for medium and high power views of the same case.
