Description
Don Quixote, Madrid 1615, part II, chapter 21. Basilio pretends to stab himself in order to persuade Quiteria to marry him instead of the wealthier Camacho. After the trick is revealed, Don Quixote on the left defends the validity of the betrothal. Camacho is shown on the right, threatening to draw his sword against Basilio. On the left Sancho Panza makes off with his food
